Visiting HOME for a two night stay after 592 days!
The main reason for this visit was Amma.
She got this prestigious ability to endure silently while holding everyone else up. She has been doing this since she realized that I moved out permanently. I had to go home couple of times for some harsh reasons which I'm not gonna mention here. Each time I went there I realized why things went wrong. To get this insight you've got to go out in the society alone and experience it. My parents never had the chance to understand this when they were kids. They followed the normal social system of their time. So they are afraid of seeing their children taking risks by doing something apart from the current social system. This is the average Sri Lankan Family psychology. Can't blame anyone on that since doing what you like is not a human need.
But if I ever become a dad. My prime goal would be to raise a child who is comfortable enough to leave me and soar on his/her own when the time comes. If the kid is ready for that by 18, my job is done! This is just how I think. And I'm always ready for healthy arguments.

Adventures must start running away from home! But when you are away, you become a different person. The things you see, things you hear, situations you go through, friends you hangout with, and the girls you fall for mould you in to someone else. I've read so many books, articles, and sayings on those topics. From the knowledge I gained I can tell you this, How you react to them makes you unique. That's where you pop out in the society. Then you get the freedom and the ability to grow alone.
Being back at home after this long made me realize how messed up I was before and how above five facts made me different after leaving!
Below here I will mention couple of things I noticed and the things I felt,
I started Saying sorry and thank you at every possible moment.
Less attachment to food. but more water! I only eat when I'm hungry.
I'm unable to start conversations which satisfies others. I used to do this so well. Every time I start a convo the content I'm talking gets so raw and it ends up as an advice. I repeatedly start my sentences with "When I was in" and "back then".
I realized my mother is my foundation. I have all the basic human qualities, habits and errors same as hers. I've missed love and I realized the meaning of the word "unconditional".
She never expects anything.
Understood the difference of knowing everything about me and knowing only the romantic side.
I wonder how I'm gonna feel when I read this in another 3 or 4 years.

One month down! 2018
31 days Gone!
Wrote down the first impressions of 33 people for the month.
Only had 3 days for myself. Which means I invested 28 days from this month on my future.
I gave up on my to do lists. More likely I transferred them into the google calendar. Now I assign deadlines to my to do lists.
Gave up on some projects since the person who I wanted to work with is no longer interested in the industry.
PointFive came to an end. So many memories. So much experience. 💓
Im officially playing with Daddy now.
Still working on a releasing strategy for my tracks. You'll listen to them as soon as I get insight about releasing tracks.
Projects I've been working this month
1) Sihinayen OLT - Dilmin
2) Piyapath Ai - Andrew
3) Parampara - Harsha I.
4) Athal Kamare - Evanda
5) Ruwaththiye
6) Nil Nethu - Dilmin
7) Untitled - Shuaib J.
At the end of the day we're just a big community, all trying to improve our own skills. Learn to do it together!
Ever had trouble getting paid?
Most of the time all of us get into various kind of troubles when we are getting paid. Yes , remember all the times when it happened to you? Have you found a solution for that? Because if not Milestone Payment Method can solve that for you.
1) A milestone payment is ;
Certain % of the few of a project that the client pays over the course of the project rather than paying 100% at the end.
I’ve got an example for you ,
- Advance - 25%
- After the first draft is submitted - 25%
- At project completion - 50%
2) Why you should use this method ;
- This method ensure you’ve at least got the payment for what you have done even if the client drops off the project in the middle.
- It helps steady your cash flow.
- It makes you more productive because with this you always have a certain date and a target to complete.
3) How this method works ;
- First you should figure out whether or not milestone payment make sense for your project. Milestone payments are mostly used for projects with set product and time goals that last longer than at lest 2 weeks. If you have a short project , it may not make sense to break out payments.
- You must include a payment schedule in your project proposal and if you require milestone payments , you may also have mentioned it.
Here’s another example for you ,
- Contract agreement - January 2018
- First draft due - February 15 , 2018 : 20%
- Second draft due - March 22 , 2018 : 30%
- Final due - May 1 , 2018 : 50%
Tip - A way to ensure that milestone payment happen in your favor is to have a strong reputation for reliability. This is where referrals from previous clients , testimonials , your client list , and social proof come in handy.
Now you know what you should do in your next project.
Give it a try !

Time management!
You need better time management if,
- You feel bad after spending time online.
- Up past your bedtime -- all the time.
- People get mad at you for not paying attention to them.
- Your pay:time ratio is way off.
- Obsessed with learning skills you'll never use.
- Blankly starting at a phone screen -- for no good reason.
- No momentum in personal and professional life.
I wrote this article on one of my friend's POV. Guess him!! 😆

Dont wait for anyone or anything!
One of the worst habits I had on 2016 was expecting others to help me grow up in my field. I was independent with my decisions but I was expecting too many things to happen. My goals were built on theories which contained so many "If"s. I went broke on Nov 2016. I started seeking online help. Couple of days later this video popped up on my Youtube. You should watch it too. The 2nd topic took me back to the track.

How much is your time really worth?
Last night I performed with Naadro for the second time. After the event I got deeply inspired by the behavior of Rakitha aiya. His ability to identify anyone's true intention with a glance, should've been so helpful in his career. I think he was born with that ability. Alrighty lets get into the topic.
To get started, you need two numbers:
- 1. The amount of time you spend to earn money.
- 2. The amount of money you earn during that time.
Finally, divide your total money earned (Step 2) by your total time spent (Step 1).
I prefer to use a 1 month chart!
I prefer to use a 1 month chart!
- If you make LKR 35,000/month, your time is worth LKR 47.94/hour.
- If you make LKR 50,000/month, your time is worth LKR 68.49/hour.
- If you make LKR 150,000/month, your time is worth LKR 205.47/hour.
This number will help you to take good decisions,
- Whether to take on additional part-time work and at what hourly rate.
- Whether taking a cab is worth the extra cost.
- How long you should wait in line for a free item.
- Whether you should try to scale down or scale up your hours at your current job.
- Whether you have inconsistencies in your thinking about the value of your time.
- Whether it's worth hiring a personal assistant, laundry service, or other help.
Stay productive! 💓

How to get ready for a project super fast!
A phone call from Rakitha aiya woke me up this morning. The first gig with Naadro happened on 4th morning. And the second gig is gonna happen tomorrow. The client want us to perform in their home coming too. So I was asked to set up 3 ableton projects (Simply I have to perform 3 items) by tomorrow eve.
And with the workload I have its a tough task for me. But luckily I've faced these kind of situations before. That means there is a method I've figured out earlier in my previous year journal. Im gonna share it with you.
There 6 steps
There 6 steps
1. Set micro goals.
Take the project and divide it into smaller parts. Create a quality checklist for each goal so you don't miss a beat.
2. Eliminate distractions.
Isolate yourself from nonessential people and electronics. Crank up the music and power through in long focused time periods. Set them at 90 minutes and don't take a break in between. (My normal work sessions are just 25 mins. But this is a bit next level working session. Simply a challenge.)
3. Keep moving past the flaws.
Slowing down every time you hit a small snag can add a lot of extra time to the project. Better to come back and clean up small messes at the end. That way you can keep the rhythm going. Of course, if a big crucial problem hits, solve it now so it doesn't send you way off course.
4. Get rid of your judgment.
Second guessing yourself at every step can cause anxiety and delays. Self-judgment is crippling when trying to problem solve. Express all your ideas and solutions judgment free.
5. Keep your eye on the prize.
When my brain has already left for the weekend it's hard to keep focus. That's when I take a few minutes to visualize what it means to be finished with the project. Then I go push hard to power through and get it done.
Let me know if this helped you! 💓
First post of 2018!
Meeting Rakitha aiya and talking with him took my goals to a whole new level.
